The University of California Biomedical Research Acceleration, Integration, and Development (UC BRAID) consortium, is a partnership between the five University of California medical campuses - Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco - all of which are members of the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program. UC BRAID catalyzes, accelerates and reduces the barriers for clinical and translational research across the UC system. The effort includes identifying shared challenges and facilitating system-wide solutions in regard to policy changes, new infrastructure, and standardized processes. Areas of initial attention include contracting and regulatory processes, drug discovery & development, informatics and the UC-Research eXchange consortium (UC-ReX).
